The Borno State House of Assembly has received an executive communication from Governor Babagana Umara Zulum seeking the confirmation of the chairman and members of the Borno State Bureau for Public Procurement.
Speaker Rt. Hon. Abdulkarim Lawan, FCIHCD, presided over the plenary and read the letter during the sitting, on Thursday.
The communication listed nominees representing the three senatorial zones of the state.
The nominees are Alhaji Abba Kaka and Lawan Maina Saleh for Borno Central.
Mai Idris Jalo and Mr. Y. Yanga were nominated for Southern Borno.
Aliyu Kyari and Mele Mohammed were nominated for Borno North.
The Speaker also conveyed Governor Zulum’s appreciation to the lawmakers.
He commended their consistent support and the cordial relationship between the executive and legislative arms of government.
The Assembly also received a bill seeking to amend Section Three of the College of Health Technology Law.
The amendment aims to rename the institution as the Comrade Ali Chiroma College of Health Technology in honor of the late labor leader.
Both the executive communication and the amendment bill were referred to the House Committee on Governor’s Office and the House Committee on Health.
The committees will further review the documents for legislative action.
Chairman of the House Committee on Governor’s Office, Hon. Kotoko Ali Kotoko, assured the House that his committee will submit its report at the next sitting.
Co-Chairman of the House Committee on Health, Hon. Dige Mohammed, gave a similar assurance.
