The Bauchi state government has declared Friday, November 28, a work-free day in honour of Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, who passed away on Thursday.
The announcement was made by Mukhtar Gidado, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Governor Bala Mohammed.
The gesture aims to enable public and private sector workers, students, and residents to participate in the funeral prayer and pay their last respects to the late Islamic scholar.
Funeral arrangements
The funeral prayer for Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Friday at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi, giving the community an opportunity to honour one of Nigeria’s most respected Muslim leaders.
