Top All Progressives Congress (APC) officials and other political leaders were among the dignitaries who gathered on Saturday at the NICON Luxury Hotel, Abuja, where renowned Hausa political singer, Dauda Kahutu Rarara, was conferred with an honorary doctorate degree by the European-American University, Commonwealth of Dominican Republic of Panama.

The award, presented during the institution’s 23rd convocation ceremony, was witnessed by Katsina State governor Dr. Umaru Dikko Radda, APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, House Committee on Appropriation Chairman Abubakar Kabir Bichi, Nasiru Sani Danlami representing Katsina Central, and Abdulmumini Zannah Bungudu representing Maru/Bungudu Federal Constituency.

Rarara received the Doctor of Science in Humanitarian Service, Music and Entertainment, with his certificate handed over by Professor Idris Aliyu of the Governing Council, who represented the Vice Chancellor.

In his welcome address, the institution’s Northern Nigeria representative, Dr. Musari Audu Isyaku, noted that Rarara, alongside Alhaji Ahmed Saleh Jnr., Prof. Mustapha Abdullahi Bujawa, and Prof. Tarela Boroh, was honoured for outstanding contributions to humanity.

“This honorary doctorate degree and professor awards is a testament of their unwavering commitment to excellence and community development,” he said.

Expressing gratitude, Rarara said he was delighted that his talent and humanitarian work were being recognized. He advised youths to remain patient and purposeful, stressing, “there is wisdom in being purposive.” He added that the honour would encourage him to extend his humanitarian services across Katsina and Nigeria.

Governor Radda lauded Rarara’s efforts, describing him as “a phenomenon and unifier.”

He said Rarara is not only using his talent to entertain, but also unify Nigerians, saying the singer stands as a symbol of tenacity and dedication.
