Adamawa State Police Command has arrested and detained four officers for alleged misconduct and excessive use of force during an arrest in Fufore Local Government Area.
In a statement released on Tuesday by the Command’s spokesperson, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the incident occurred on October 14, 2025, at Sabon Gari Quarters, Fufore.
The officers were reportedly seen in a viral social media video using excessive force and firing shots while attempting to arrest a suspect.
Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, denounced the officers’ unprofessional behaviour and assured that disciplinary measures would be enforced.
“The Command will not condone any act of indiscipline or abuse of power. The law will take its full course,” Morris stated.
He also directed the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the IGP’s X-Squad to conduct a comprehensive and transparent investigation into the case.
The Commissioner appealed for public calm, reaffirming the Command’s dedication to accountability and professional conduct in policing.
