The Kaduna State Police Command says its operatives, working jointly with the military and other security agencies, have begun a massive clearance operation targeting criminal hideouts across the state.

The Command’s spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, announced the operation in a statement on Tuesday.

Hassan said the operation was launched “in a renewed and intensified effort to combat insurgents, bandits and other criminal elements across Kaduna State and its environs.”

According to him, the coordinated mission involves the military, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kaduna State Vigilance Service, and local hunters.

He added that teams are currently conducting a comprehensive clearance operation in Makarfi, Hunkuyi, and Ikara Local Government Areas.

Targeting Criminal Hideouts

Hassan explained that the operation is designed to flush out criminal hideouts, dismantle illegal camps, and restore peace in affected communities.

“It is also in strict compliance with the marching orders of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, directing all Commands to intensify efforts toward eliminating crime and criminality in their jurisdictions,” he said.

Police Commissioner Muhammad Rabiu assured the public that the exercise will be continuous and robust, stressing that all security agencies will maintain close collaboration to ensure a crime-free environment.

“The command remains firmly committed to sustaining the peaceful atmosphere currently being enjoyed across the state,” Hassan added.
