Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has signed four strategic bills into law, establishing new agencies aimed at strengthening institutional frameworks and driving sustainable development across the state.
The announcement was made in a statement on Thursday by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
The newly established agencies include the Kano State Social Protection Agency (KASPA), Kano State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KASIAA), Kano State Information and Communication Technologies Development Agency (KASITDA), and Kano State Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (KASMEDA).
These new laws are expected to stimulate innovation, support small businesses, enhance public service delivery, and provide a regulatory framework for signage and advertising activities within the state.
Governor Yusuf described the signing as a landmark move toward building a modern, inclusive, and economically vibrant Kano.
He emphasized that the agencies will play vital roles in job creation, attracting investment, and implementing government programs efficiently.
“Our mission is to lay a solid foundation for a greater Kano. These laws go beyond policy — they are key instruments of transformation that will help drive our development agenda,” the Governor said.
He also warned that violations of the provisions in the new laws would attract strict penalties, stressing his administration’s commitment to the rule of law and effective governance.
The creation of these agencies underscores Governor Yusuf’s ongoing reform efforts to improve public institutions and position Kano as a hub for innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable economic growth.
