Centre for Innovation and Advanced Technology (CIATECH) Africa has launched a new initiative to boost economic activities in Borno State.

The organization, which focuses on innovation, technology, advocacy, and entrepreneurship, is partnering with Rayyan Microfinance Bank to support 50 entrepreneurs in the state.

Both parties signed an agreement for the intervention on Monday in Maiduguri, the state capital.

The program targets micro, small, and medium enterprises across sectors such as agribusiness, retail, and digital services.

Support will include training, mentorship, and access to financial services.

CIATECH said the partnership aims to bridge the gap between innovation and finance by equipping local entrepreneurs with digital tools, financial literacy, and business development support.

It explained that the selected MSMEs will receive tailored support designed to help them grow sustainably.

CIATECH founder, Umar Grema, described the partnership as ‘a milestone in advancing digital and economic inclusion for small business owners in Borno.’

“Our collaboration with Rayyan Microfinance Bank is driven by a shared vision to empower local entrepreneurs, especially youth and women-led businesses, with the right skills, finance, and technology,” he said.

“We are not just supporting MSMEs; we are building an ecosystem of innovation and resilience in Borno State.”

Rayyan Bank’s managing director, Abubakar Musa, said the bank is ‘proud to partner with CIATECH Africa in creating pathways for entrepreneurs to grow.”

“Together, we will ensure that MSMEs in Borno can access the tools, credit, and knowledge they need to succeed in today’s economy,” he added.

Under the agreement, CIATECH will handle digital training and entrepreneurship development, while Rayyan Bank will provide financing and financial advisory support.
