The Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, has handed over brand-new Honda Accord cars to the 17 Local Government chairmen of the All Progressives Congress in the state.

The vehicles were formally presented on Monday at the party’s state secretariat located in Damaturu.

The distribution was conducted on behalf of the governor by the Deputy Governor, Idi Barde Gubana, who explained that the move was intended to enhance party activities and boost grassroots mobilisation throughout the 17 local government areas of the state.

Gubana encouraged the beneficiaries to utilise the vehicles responsibly and remain dedicated to sustaining unity within the party.

“The vehicles are meant to support your activities and help you mobilise support for the party’s policies and programmes in your respective local governments,” he said.

He further cautioned the chairmen against actions capable of causing internal rifts, stressing the need for cohesion among party members and alertness against political betrayal.

The deputy governor also highlighted the importance of strict compliance with party rules and operational procedures.

“Local government party chairmen must comply with APC guidelines and maintain close collaboration with key state stakeholders in all their activities,” he added.

Earlier, the state chairman of the APC, Muhammad Gadaka, thanked the governor for the gesture and urged those who received the vehicles to repay the support with loyalty and commitment.

“We are grateful to the governor for this generous gesture. The beneficiaries must reciprocate by remaining committed to the success of the party,” he said.

Apart from the vehicles, the governor equally provided Sallah clothes and wrappers to 37 members serving on the state party executive.

Meanwhile, the Secretary to the Yobe State Government, Baba Malam Wali, donated N2 million to the chairmen to assist them in purchasing fuel for the vehicles.
