The Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has relieved the State Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa, of his duties with immediate effect.

This was confirmed in a statement by Kano governor’s spokeman, Sanusi Bature D-Tofa, noting that the removal forms part of ongoing administrative changes within the state civil service.

Before his removal, Abdullahi Musa served as the Head of the Kano State Civil Service, overseeing the coordination of ministries and supervising the activities of permanent secretaries and other senior government officials.

Although the government has not publicly disclosed detailed reasons for the decision, the move is widely seen as part of efforts by the Yusuf administration to reorganize the state’s public service and improve efficiency in governance.

Following the development, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has directed Bilkisu Shehu Maimota to take over as the Acting Head of Service.

Prior to her appointment, Bilkisu Shehu Maimota served as Permanent Secretary in the Cabinet Office, where she handled administration and general services.

She is expected to oversee the operations of the Kano State civil service in an acting capacity, pending the appointment of a substantive Head of Service.

Government officials say the transition is aimed at ensuring continuity and stability in the administration of the state’s public service.
