The Kaduna State Scholarship and Loans Board (KADSSLB) has commenced the disbursement of N40 million in scholarship funds to over 1,500 Kaduna State University (KASU) students under the education support initiative of Governor Uba Sani.

Executive Secretary of the Board, Prof. Yahya Saleh Ibrahim, said the amount was increased from N30 million due to the high number of qualified applicants, noting that “this disbursement marks the official kickoff of the 2025/2026 scholarship cycle.”

He announced the expansion of the programme to Kaduna Polytechnic, adding that the move reflects “the state government’s commitment to widening access to educational support across tertiary institutions.”

Prof. Ibrahim also unveiled a Student Entrepreneurship Loan Scheme, explaining that graduates who complete vocational training will access up to N1.5 million in start-up capital, with repayment beginning two years after business establishment.

Reacting, KASU Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Yushau Ango Ibrahim, described the intervention as “timely and impactful,” praising the sustained partnership between the university and the Board.
