Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has presented a N515.6 billion budget for the 2026 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly.
According to a statement issued on Monday by Mamman Mohammed, director general, press and media said, the budget is tagged “Budget of Economic Growth and Infrastructural Transformation.”
It covers capital, recurrent, overhead, and personnel costs.
This shows an increase from the N320.8 billion budget of the outgoing year.
The government allocated N192.1 billion, representing 37.3 percent, for recurrent expenditure.
It set aside N323.4 billion, representing 62.7 percent, for capital projects.
Governor Buni said key areas that received attention in the outgoing year include healthcare, education, agriculture, and infrastructure such as roads, electricity, and water supply.
He said the government will establish a dialysis center in Gashua to support kidney patients.
He also said a new general hospital will be built in Potiskum to ease pressure on the Specialist Hospital in 2026.
