Governors from the South-West have gathered in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, to discuss the security challenges affecting the region.

Those present at the meeting include Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo and Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti.

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State is being represented by his deputy, Kola Adeusi.

Reports indicate that the session was convened to assess the current security landscape across the South-West.

Special Adviser on Media to Governor Seyi Makinde, Dr Sulaimon Olanrewaju, confirmed the ongoing meeting on Monday afternoon.

Olanrewaju, during a short telephone exchange, explained that all the governors, aside from Adeleke who delegated his deputy, are attending the deliberations.

He said, “The meeting has started. All the governors are present except Governor Adeleke who was represented by his deputy.”
