Governor of Sokoto State, Ahmed Aliyu, has congratulated the newly elected members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) State Executive Committee and urged them to sustain the unity currently existing among party members.
The governor made this known in a statement where he also advised the newly elected officials to adopt the leadership approach of their predecessors.
He explained that the outgoing leadership worked collectively as one family, stressing the need for the new executives to maintain the same spirit of cooperation.
Governor Aliyu also reminded the new leadership to give priority attention to the ongoing e-registration exercise by ensuring that all party members participate actively.
“The new leadership needs to embark on a massive enlightenment campaign to sensitize members on the importance of acquiring the party membership card,” he stated.
Aliyu praised the outgoing leadership under the chairmanship of Isa Saddiq Achida for their dedication, commitment and selfless service to the party since 2019.
“The new leadership must carry everybody along and work as a team in order to further strengthen our great party,” he added.
He said the Sokoto APC, under the leadership of Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, remains a united family that continues to grow stronger over time.
The statement issued by the Director General, Media and Publicity, Government House Sokoto, Mallam Abubakar Bawa, also noted that Governor Aliyu assured the newly elected officials of the state government’s continued support at all times and urged them to discharge their duties with integrity.
He also wished them a successful and productive tenure in office.
