The Kaduna State Police Command has conducted an inspection tour of the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, as well as rural boarding schools and other institutions in the state.

According to the Command, the move is in line with the ongoing Safe School Initiative of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, aimed at enhancing the security of schools and educational institutions across the state and the country at large.

In a statement, the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Rabiu Mohammad, said during the visit to Kachia met with the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor William Qurix, where key security concerns affecting the university were discussed and promptly addressed.

The statement explains that the Commissioner immediately deployed additional police personnel to reinforce security within the school premises.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Qurix, expresses appreciation for the swift and proactive response of the Command in strengthening the safety of students and staff of the university.

Furthermore, the CP engaged with relevant stakeholders within the region and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to safeguarding schools, adding that this will be a continuous exercise until all learning environments within the state are fully secured.
