Biafra separatist leader Nnamdi Kanu has finally complied with the directive of the Federal High Court in Abuja to begin his defence in the terrorism charges filed against him by the Federal Government.
Kanu is currently submitting his defence papers inside the courtroom as ordered by Justice James Omotosho.
Following Kanu’s repeated complaints, the judge instructed that the court’s registry be temporarily moved to his courtroom to enable the filing process.
Counsel for the Federal Government, Adegboyega Awomolo, told the court that he would receive Kanu’s defence documents in the courtroom and respond appropriately.
As of press time, the filing of Kanu’s defence was ongoing, with the judge suspending proceedings for one hour.
Until now, Kanu had declined to present his defence, arguing that he must first be shown the exact terrorism law he allegedly breached.
