The Flag Officer Commanding, Special Operations Command, Rear Admiral Olusegun Soyemi, has visited the Headquarters of the Joint Task Force, North East, Operation Hadin Kai, in Maiduguri.
The two-day visit from November 12 to 13 aimed to strengthen cooperation among the armed forces and improve joint operations in the North East.
Rear Admiral Soyemi said the visit allowed him to assess operational readiness, review achievements, and identify issues that need attention to improve performance in line with the Navy’s Special Operations Command goals.
He called for stronger collaboration among the military services, noting that teamwork increases flexibility, resilience, and information sharing in joint missions.
According to him:
“The intervention of the Naval Headquarters in the theater will serve as a force multiplier in the fight against insurgency and terrorism, in line with the Nigerian Navy’s strategy and national security objectives.”
He added that this support would also help the region’s economic growth.
Rear Admiral Soyemi praised the Operation Hadin Kai teams for their detailed briefings and promised to share their concerns with the naval authorities for action.
In his remarks, the Theater Commander, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, thanked the Navy for its continued support, saying it has improved the overall effectiveness of the joint task force.
“The future of the battle space depends on our domination of the entire area,” he said.
“We must do everything possible to secure it, not only for security reasons but also for its economic importance,” he concluded.
