Troops of the Nigerian Army have dismantled a notorious kidnappers’ hideout in Badurum Kasa Forest, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, rescuing eight abducted victims.

The operation was carried out by troops of Sector 7, Operation Enduring Peace, following what the Army described as “credible and actionable intelligence.”

In a statement posted on its official X handle on Thursday, the Nigerian Army said the suspects fled after encountering superior firepower.

“In another crushing blow to criminal elements, troops of Sector 7, Operation Enduring Peace launched a swift and coordinated offensive into a known kidnappers’ hideout at Badurum Kasa Forest,” the statement said.

It added that the troops operated in collaboration with the Zango Kataf Police Area Command, Civilian Joint Task Force, forest guards and local hunters.

“At about 1759 hours, contact was made, triggering panic among the kidnappers who abandoned their captives and fled into the surrounding bushes,” the Army said.
According to the statement, the victims were rescued unharmed and reunited with their families.
